Our Programs
Our services are available in multiple languages, including Somali, Amharic, Tigrinya, and Oromo, to ensure that language is not a source of marginalization used to intimidate or misinform, but instead one of liberation and empowerment. This encourages engagement with our programs and services and allows community members to leverage knowledge to better meet their needs
HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION
We educate our community about their rights as tenants and connect them to relevant resources that exist in King County in order to uplift them from housing instability. Low-income renters with 3-day eviction notices are given short-term assistance to prevent them from becoming homeless. We can help with:
Finding a safe place to stay on a temporary basis
Locating stable housing as quickly as possible
Addressing the barriers to housing
Accessing related supportive services
SUPPORT SERVICES
We support families and individuals with a one-stop-shop for culturally relevant services that help bring stability and opportunity to their lives. They identify their specific needs, and ATOC connects them to resources to help them meet their goals. We help to access services such as:
Employment
Parenting support
Medical care
Counseling
Childcare
Education
Training opportunities
Immigration paperwork help (such as green card applications)
Overall, we promote immigrant and refugee community engagement by collaborating with our community members and other organizations to provide participants with the tools and in-language support necessary to build their confidence to navigate systems that are built to keep them out
